The Ekra Cottages were built in 2005 by the owners, Simmi and Kristjana. They live in the main house a good distance away from the cottages so the cottages are really private and surrounded by nothing but the breathtaking nature of east Iceland. The Lagarfjlot water, rocks, mountain tops, plants, surround the cozy cottages so you feel as one with the nature.

 

The cottages are as following:

Both cottages have two rooms and can accommodate five persons. One of the rooms has a double bed, and the other has a wide bed as well as a bunkbed.

Both cottages have living rooms with sofas, tv's and dvd players, a kitchen with all you could need, a bathroom with a shower, and there's a gas grill on the patio.

 

Egilsstadir, the biggest town of east Iceland is only 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) away via roads no. 925 and 944. There you can go for a swim in a great pool with hot tubs, go to a convinience store, eat at restaurants ect. You can send us e-mail to get the best directions for the shortest route to Ekra. 

 

Around the cottages are a number of interesting walking trails to explore the beuitufl surroundings.
