Bakkafjordur Iceland

Bakkafjordur is a wide inlet in east Iceland. On its eastern shore is the village Hofn (Harbour), which is more commonly associated with the inlet and called simply Bakkafjordur. The village is the regional service center for Skeggjastadahreppur district. 

Few locations have so much open space while viewing such massive mountains nearby at Langanes-peninsula to the west. The fjord is wide, and the heaths to the south are fairly low, so that they do not shade off the sun as in so many other fjords around the turn of the year.
